Serving the student body

On Sept. 12, Student Services held a Meet the Mustangs event in front of the Mabee Student Services Complex.

According to Marieca Ashworth, the student services coordinator, the event was designed to introduce all CBC athletes to the student body, and to promote school pride toward the athletic teams.

“Our goal is to engage our on-campus students as well as our commuters in fun and relational activities to cultivate relationships,” says Ashworth.

Ashworth states that she wants to encourage a family atmosphere on campus that would benefit both current and future students.

“I think people seeing us will encourage them to come to the games, since they’ve seen us and know us,” says sophomore baseball player Slayton Holland.

Meet the Mustangs is not the only thing that Student Services has planned for the school year. Both Ashworth and student activities assistant Kaylie St. John are planning for the upcoming Harvest Party.

“We’re working on some new stuff, but we want to keep some traditions as well,” Kaylee said.

They have scheduled the event for Oct. 12, and the theme will be red carpet. Kaylee was also quick to encourage outside input as well.

“My door is always open,” she says. “If you have any ideas, come in and tell me!”
