Candyce’s take on… The GRAMMYs

Candyce’s take on… The GRAMMYs

The 66th annual Grammy Awards were held on Feb. 4 this year and there were many must-see moments.

One moment that must be talked about is the fact that Miley Cyrus, someone who I grew up listening to, won her first-ever Grammy. I don’t really listen to her new music, but no one will ever be able to convince me that she does not have an amazing voice. She is extremely talented and, even though her new music isn’t my cup of tea, she deserved that award.

There is someone else who I just can’t leave out of this story. Taylor Swift is now the artist with the most Album of the Year Grammy awards. Whether you like her or not, you have to admit that’s impressive. I don’t like every single song she’s written, but she is talented and one of the most popular people in the world right now at only 34 years old.

Although “GUTS” by Olivia Rodrigo was an extremely tough competitor, I can’t be mad that Taylor’s album, “Midnights”, beat Olivia’s for Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year.

Another artist who won a Grammy from my childhood that deserves recognition is Coco Jones. All of her performances in Disney’s “Let It Shine” movie deserve a Grammy, and even though I don’t listen to her current music, I will always be a Coco Jones fan.

One last shout-out to Chris Stapleton for winning two Grammy awards this year. He never misses and always produces quality music.

The 2024 Grammy Awards were special. All I have left to say is, thank you to the Academy!
