Peace is powerful

Peace is powerful

Everyone searches for peace. Everyone is looking for a sense of security and rest.

In our world today, there is unsteadiness and conflict constantly and our hearts desire calm.

In Philippians 4:6-7, Paul says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

When situations arise that we have no control over, we must look to the creator of the universe to find the peace that only he can offer.

If we can trust God with our eternity, we can trust him with our everyday trials, too!

God knows we will live a life full of hardships, and he doesn’t ignore this reality. Instead of leaving us on our own in our problems, Jesus made a way for us to live amidst our trials and still have perfect peace.

Jesus says in John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

By Jesus defeating death and sin on the cross, we can have eternal peace and security in knowing that God holds our future.

Not only do we have to know that God can provide us peace, but we have to trust in his peace. Our peace is determined by where our eyes look to when troubled times come.

Isaiah 26:3 says, “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”

When we trust in God to fulfill our every need, he will provide us with a peace that is greater than any passing peace that the temporary ways of life offer.
