Be fruitful

All fruits of the Spirit are necessary in setting Christ’s followers apart from the world. I have dived into each fruit in articles this semester, and this is the final one! I hope you begin to have a wider understanding of the expectations that God has for us as believers. 

These things are not merely recommendations or suggestions, they are a lifestyle we should embody. These are not to-do lists, but rather a way of living that should come out of the overflow of our hearts. 

As believers we should be living in a way that others see our good works, also known as our fruits of the Spirit, and notice that we are different from the world. The fruit of the Spirit should set us apart and testify of our salvation and Christ’s work in us. 

Above all the things we do in our life, we are called to live in love toward others in an effort to show Christ to them. Christ loved us when we were unlovable; therefore, we should extend that same kindness and grace to the community we live in. 

As we wrap up our journey through the fruit of the Spirit, I pray that this verse applies to everyone who has read through this series. 

Ephesians 3:16 says, “I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” 

While you’re on this journey of life trying to serve the Lord in every aspect of your life, remember that you are not alone in your walk. Other believers and the Lord himself are on your side!
