Candyce’s take on… Disney Channel Original Movies

If you knew me when I was younger, you’d know that I was a die-hard Disney kid. If you know me now, you know that I’m still a die-hard Disney kid.

However, Disney has changed a lot since my childhood. Disney now isn’t as good as it used to be. So, I thought I would share a few of my all time favorite childhood Disney Channel original movies that I still love to this day and will rewatch forever.

The first movie I mention has to be “Lemonade Mouth.” This movie will forever be one of my favorites. The soundtrack to this movie alone is amazing. These actors were kids and they made this masterpiece. I will admit, you may find a few cringey parts to the movie. However, what Disney movie doesn’t have cringey parts? The movie is good but the songs amp this movie up to a 10 out of 10.

The next movie, which has been one of my favorites for as long as I can remember, is actually a series. The “High School Musical” series is amazing, but if I had to choose just one of the movies, it would definitely be “High School Musical 3.” The third movie’s soundtrack hands-down reigns supreme over the other two. Even if you don’t like musicals, you can’t convince me that the third one is a bad movie.

There are many, many more Disney movies I could rave on and on about: “Freaky Friday,” “Twitches,” “Jump In!,” “Princess Protection Program,” “Starstruck,” “Cloud 9,” “Girl vs. Monster.” But I will leave you with just one more.

In 2012, Disney released one of the best movies of our generation: “Let It Shine.” If you haven’t seen “Let It Shine” or heard a song from the movie, you are seriously missing out. If you haven’t heard the rap from “Let It Shine,” you must have never been to karaoke with me. The soundtrack, the acting and the plot create an incredible cinematic masterpiece that my childhood was blessed with and I genuinely want you to go watch it right now.
