A Piece of Reese: Coca Cola vs. Pepsi

A Piece of Reese: Coca Cola vs. Pepsi

As we all have seen, CBC has made the switch from Pepsi products to Coca-Cola products. It was first announced in the student town hall meeting when students were raising questions about expired products in vending machines. Besides the expired products, people want to know why the school made the switch. So I went to the top guy himself, President Jeremy Langley.

“The decision to switch from Pepsi products to Coca-Cola was primarily the result of a competitive bid process,” Langley said. “We invited proposals from both companies, and Coca-Cola submitted a bid that was a better overall fit for Central Baptist College.”

In addition to the financial and service considerations in the proposal, Langley also informally surveyed students and employees about their preferences. The feedback was very clear that Coca-Cola products were strongly preferred by the majority of those who responded.

“When we combine that feedback with the terms of the bid, Coca-Cola simply made the most sense for CBC moving forward,” Langley said.

But how do the students feel? Do we like the switch from Pepsi to Coke? I conducted a survey on March 9 to get students’ opinions and out of the 12 total responses, 83.3% prefer Coke products and 16.7% prefer Pepsi. Students also had their own opinions and comments:

“Pepsi Zero..Also could we possibly get the actual Reigns and not the Reign Storms???”

“RED BULLS IN CAFE 52”

“The Alani’s at Cafe 52”

It seems like the student body really likes energy drinks. Overall, the switch has been successful and we’ve only heard positive things. Personally, I couldn’t care less what products we use. I don’t even know why Coke vs Pepsi is a debate when there’s Dr Pepper!
