Autumn Roberson, a dining hall employee, went to Washington D.C. with her boyfriend Dustin Canady to watch the Presidential inauguration on January 20.

The reason why Roberson attended the inauguration is because her boyfriend invited her and she knew this inauguration would be important.
“I knew that this was a time of change and a very important inauguration,” said Roberson.
She also said it was refreshing to see people from all over the world excited about the inauguration.
“It was cool to interact with people that were happy to see that the country was about to change,” said Roberson.
These are some of the things Roberson mentioned stood out about her experience at the inauguration:
- diversity among audience and media
- a few quiet protesters
- there were no riots
Roberson said seeing Vice President Mike Pence and President Donald Trump being sworn into office will be an experience she will never forget. Roberson also found President Trump’s speech to be a special moment.
“When I heard his speech, it was surreal. It was like I wasn’t even there,” said Roberson.
Roberson also adds that she believed that God had his hand in this election.
“I honestly do believe that God had his hand in this because nobody believed Trump was going to win, not even me,” said Roberson.
Roberson said that God has the ultimate say in everything that happens and that’s why President Donald Trump won.
