Several changes will take place for students in CBC housing following Spring Break due to the continuing development of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a written policy from Chris Mitchell, dean of students.
The policy, provided to students on Friday, March 20, said students moving back into the campus housing can choose from two times to move in: 3-6 p.m. Sunday, March 29 or 8-11 a.m. Tuesday, March 31. Students will have a health screening and be asked about spring break travels in the Community Room before being allowed to enter Dickson Hall or any upperclassmen housing. The student housing buyout fee will be waived until noon Tuesday, March 31, but after that time, any student moving out of housing will be subject to the fee.
Changes have also been made in policies regarding students gathering on campus. Under the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control, students are not allowed to congregate in lobbies or common areas on campus.
Students and CBC employees are also to receive meals in to-go boxes and the dining hall is closed to the public. The cafeteria hours for lunch are lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and dinner from 4:45-5:30 p.m. This schedule is currently in place but is subject to change and re-evaluation upon the return of spring break.
The Story Library and Café 52 will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with student ID card entry.
Students who think they have been exposed to COVID-19 or believe they may have the symptoms are asked to contact the Student Services office, but not to go to the nurse’s office as no tests are available on campus. Students may also visit uamshealth.com or contact Conway Regional Health System for drive-thru testing.
