Freshman Patricia Hernandez is from Canton, Texas and she is pursuing a degree in middle-level education with an emphasis in mathematics and social studies. After graduation, she plans to start a family and begin teaching while working to get her master’s degree in administration.

On campus, Hernandez is involved in many activities including Student Activities Board, Rotaract Club, women’s chorus, chapel band, worship choir, handbells and band. One of the skills she has that makes her special is that she can play the clarinet, as well as the bass clarinet. She is passionate about is showing God’s love through everything she does.

CBC has been her dream school since she was in seventh grade when she saw the college’s booth at SOAR. The accomplishment that she says she is most proud of is winning Miss GMA in 2016, which got her to CBC.

“My junior year I decided to run for Miss GMA and I received that title for Texas,” says Hernandez. “I prayed to God that if I got National Miss GMA I would attend CBC and I did. CBC granted me a scholarship and that’s why I ended up here.”
