Why can’t I look up? Student reactions to solar eclipse August 21

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament declares his handiwork,” sophomore Caleb Long

“Looks like God’s fingernail,” junior Austin Lewis

“Even the things we can’t see proclaim that God exists,” junior Nate Lawrence

“John Hagee would be proud,” senior Jacob Bentley.

“What is going to be awesome is the eclipse that goes over Arkansas seven years from now,” senior Blake Pittman

Students also broke out into a spontaneous chorus of “How Great Thou Art” by the Mabee Student Services Complex.
